Our office provides care for both acute conditions as well as helps people stay healthy with periodic supportive chiropractic adjustments. As a Chiropractic Orthopedist Dr. Shotwell has a special interest in the treatment of spinal injuries resulting from whiplash, work injuries and home accidents. Most of our patients come to us by referral from satisfied patients as well as family physicians and attorneys who are familiar and confident in our high standards of patient care.

Dr. Shotwell graduated from Sherman Chiropractic College in 1982.  He also holds a Bacholer of Science degree from Lebanon Valley College in Annville Pennsylvania, majoring in both Biology and Economics and Business Administration.  After graduating from chiropractic college Dr. Shotwell completed a 3 year Postgraduate Orthopedics program with Los Angeles College of Chiropractic. Dr. Shotwell practiced in Seattle until 2006 when he opened his current office in Arlington.

During his 27 years of clinical experience Dr. Shotwell has gained a fine appreciation that often a patient's condition benefits more from the combination of several forms of therapy. He therefore often refers his patients to the following caregivers: massage and physical therapists, orthopedists, neurologists, neurosurgeons, physiatrists (an MD who specializes in management of rehabilitation for difficult cases) and family physicians.

Dr. Shotwell is a past president of the Washington State Chiropractic Association and served on the WSCA Board of Directors for over a decade. He also served for many years as Chairman of the Seattle Chiropractic Society.

Dr. Shotwell is an approved Independent Medical Examiner for the WA State Dept of Labor & Industries. He has also served as a consultant to the following organizations: King County Medical, Snohomish County Physician Service, Washington Physicians Service (Medicare), Group Health Cooperative, Premera Blue Cross. Dr. Shotwell also serves as a second opinion consultant for several independent insurance carriers.
